What Merge Two Spreadsheets does

Two sheets, matched — no VLOOKUP. Join two Excel or CSV files by a column they share, find rows that appear in both, or spot what is missing.

  • Pick the shared column, like an email or ID
  • Catches near-misses such as extra spaces
  • Up to 100,000 rows in each sheet

How it works

  1. 1Add your two spreadsheets — Excel or CSV.
  2. 2Check the preview and pick the right sheet if the file has several.
  3. 3Choose the column that appears in both files, like an email or an ID.
  4. 4Pick what you want and download the result.

Common questions

Do I need to know VLOOKUP?

No. You pick the column that appears in both sheets and say what you want — bring columns across, find rows in both, or list what is missing. The lookup happens for you.

Are my spreadsheets uploaded anywhere?

No. The files are read inside your browser, which matters a great deal when the sheet holds salaries, customer lists or anything else you would not email to a stranger.

My file has several sheets. Which one is used?

The first one, but you can switch with the dropdown once the file is open. The preview shows exactly what is in the sheet you have selected.

How big a file can it handle?

Up to 100,000 rows per sheet. Beyond that your browser runs out of memory, which is genuinely where a database rather than a spreadsheet is the right tool.

Some rows are not matching and I cannot see why.

Usually it is invisible differences — a trailing space, or "Priya" against "priya". The tool counts how many extra rows would match if those were ignored and offers to do it, so you can see the effect before committing.

What if the matching column has repeated values?

It warns you, and uses the first match for each row. A column where every value is different — an email or an ID — gives a result you can trust. The preview marks which columns are unique.
